Thank you for considering a donation to Elizabeth Freeman Center. Our work is possible because of generous support from people like you.
Where your dollars go:
- $35 provides school supplies for a child in our shelter
- $50 ensures that the next person who goes to the hospital after a sexual assault will be met there by an Elizabeth Freeman Center counselor providing immediate help and support
- $100 helps us provide a night of emergency shelter and food for a family fleeing imminent danger
- $500 funds a week of our famed violence prevention education with 50 middle school students
- $1500 helps sustain one month of after-hours coverage for our 24/7 hotline, so that no one’s call for help goes unanswered

INTERESTED IN DONATING GOODS?
Families often flee violence with little other than the clothes they are wearing. We welcome the donation of items that our shelter and clients are regularly in need of, including diapers, wipes, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, deodorant, tampons, new underwear, and – come the holidays – gifts. Your contribution will help make a difference in someone’s life.
Unfortunately, at this time due to our limited storage space we are only able to accept small amounts of seasonal clothing, but always new and lightly worn winter coats and boots and we are only able to accept large furniture with a pre-determined need.
We frequently do have a need for:
- very good or new unbreakable dinnerware complete sets and cups;
- new kitchen utensils/measuring sets/preparation and storage bowls;
- new or very gently used silverware complete sets;
- new or excellent condition cookware;
- lamps;
- new or lightly used twin, full, and queen beds and especially mattress sets for these, we have many twin and several full bed frames but no mattress sets for them.
We have recently secured a small off-site storage unit for furniture but space is still limited, please contact us ahead of time and be understanding, timing is not always perfect in these situations. Please call (413) 499-2425 if you would like to donate items and to find out if we are able to accept them. Thank you!
